the road not taken

nothing grand for the blog this time ...
just one of my all time favorite poems ...
one that makes all the difference :-)

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I --
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

the shenandoah crossing

at the shenandoah ...
i saw a fleet of birds on their way home;
of the lot there was one that was slow ...
always trying to catch up;
n one real fast ... the leader ...
leading the way ...

to my amazement ... the fleet flew with immense grace !!
it still carved patterns in the sky ...
it still demanded a second look ...

of the fleet ... is the story of each person ... each day ...
its not about who leads or follows ...
but the ones who fly as they are ... as they will be ...
smiling ... chirping ... enjoying the evening sun ...

of each day ... of each flight ...
of each sway ... of each night ...
the story sung by all .. heard by few ...
its is in the chirping n smiling that eternity could pass by ...
an eternity that would still seem like all but a day !!

humming aloud

mujhe tumne kaise badal diya ... hairaan hoon main is baat par
mera dil dhadakta hai aaj-kal ... teri shokh nazaron se pooch-kar
meri jaan kabhi mere bas mein thi ... ab zindagi tere haath hai
kabhi raat din hum door the ... din raat ka ab saath hai
woh bhi ihtefaak ki baat thi ... yeh bhi itefaak ki baat hai

they say challenges wear u out

This morning i read an article from a friend ... talking about challenges ... it gave me food 4 thot ...

They say challenges wear u out ;
Challenges could wear u out ... n then challenges could give your life a purpose ...

The same routine life follows ... like catching the 8:06 to churchgate station !!
then again ... every time i travelled the 8:06 ... i saw some old faces n some new ones ...
some smiled @ me ... some sneered ...
but every single day i overheard a new snippet ... something that got my mind racing !!

how very demeaning it must be to not get promoted; when 3 of ur junior, less deserving colleagues got promoted !!
how could someone be happy n in love with an abusive husband !!
how could someone so profusely stink of fish n be oblivious to the fact !! ;-)

i chose to believe that life had more depth than that ... much more than those words cud express ... each person has their own challenges ... to face n to overcome ...

the 8:06 mite be mundane ... but i choose think that it is a new 8:06 every day !!

in life ...
we pass by many pastures ...
many crossroads ...
n still not know any better ...

n then again ...
maybe we weren't meant to know it all ...
just the snippets that trigger our thot processes !!

humming aloud
woh pal ke jis mein ... mohabbat jawaan hoti hain
us ek pal ka tujhe ... intezaar hai ke nahi ...
jhuki jhuki si nazar ... bekaraar hai ke nahi
